Your profile tracks how it’s being used. This is the feedback loop that tells you whether a change to your links helped or hurt.

What’s measured

With direct mode on, a visitor is sent straight to one link. That visit still counts as a profile view and as a view of that link.

Time ranges

View any period: today, yesterday, this week, last week, this month, last month, or the last three months. You can also pick a custom date range, and each period compares against the one before it.
Compare like with like. An event week against a quiet week only tells you that events exist. For event-driven work, compare this conference to the last one.

Using it well

Views measure how often you shared. Conversion measures whether your profile was worth opening. If views are climbing and conversion is flat, the problem is the profile, not your networking.
Reorder your links, then wait a period and compare. Change five things at once and you learn nothing about which one worked.
Some analytics require a paid plan. If a section shows a subscribe prompt rather than data, that’s a plan boundary rather than a fault. See Plans and limits.

Team-wide analytics

Admins see this across everyone under profile activity in Insights, which is where you’d compare profiles between members rather than periods for one person.
