Who the app is for
The app serves two kinds of people, and it’s worth knowing which you are — some of what follows won’t apply to you.Individual users
You use Tap on your own. Your profile, your links, your connections — no company controls what you can change, and no admin sees your leads.
Tap Teams members
Your company invited you. Your profile may be shaped by a template, some fields may be locked by your department, and your captured leads are visible to your admins and sync to the company CRM.
Where this documentation says something is set or restricted by an admin, that applies to team members only. If you’re an individual user, you control all of it yourself.

Getting started as a member
1
Accept the invitation
Your admin invites you by email. Open it and set a password.
2
Install the app and sign in
Sign in with the email address the invitation was sent to.
3
Complete your profile
If your company uses a template, most of it is already filled in — add your photo, title, and personal links.
4
Activate your Tap product
If you have a physical card or tag, activate it and link it to your profile. An unactivated card does nothing.
5
Share it once as a test
Share to a colleague’s phone and fill in the form as a visitor would. Two minutes now beats discovering a problem at an event.
Why some things are locked
If a field or link type won’t let you edit it, your admin has restricted it at the department level — usually to keep branding consistent. That’s a configuration choice rather than a bug; ask your admin if you need it changed. See Department permissions.Guided tips
The first time you open a screen, the app walks you through it — a short sequence of tips pointing at the things on that screen worth knowing, with Next to move on and Got it to finish. Skip tips ends the walkthrough at any point. Tips run on most of the main screens: your home card, sharing, leads and lead details, meetings, analytics, the card designer, your profile, products, cards and settings. Each tip is shown once per person, and skipping counts as seeing them. They’re tied to your account rather than the device, so signing in on a new phone doesn’t replay tips you’ve already dismissed — and a second person signing in on your phone gets their own.
